Child Safety Policy

The Service Provider of MoiMatch has zero tolerance for any form of sexual exploitation, physical abuse or other harm directed at minors. This policy sets out the standards that apply to everyone who uses the Service, the measures we take, and the ways to report a violation.

For the purposes of this policy the words “child”, “children” and “minor” are used interchangeably and mean any person under the age of 18, regardless of the age of majority or the age of consent in any particular country.

MoiMatch is a dating service for adults. Nobody under 18 may create an account or use the Service in any way. These standards apply on every client — the website, the Android and iOS applications and the Telegram bot — and they apply to profiles, photographs, descriptions, private messages and any other material transmitted through the Service.

1. Child sexual abuse and exploitation

MoiMatch does not permit any material that depicts, promotes, normalises or in any other way encourages the sexual exploitation of minors. This applies to every kind of content: real material, text, drawings, computer graphics and material generated by artificial intelligence.

Whatever the sender’s intention, any engagement with material depicting child sexual abuse — viewing, forwarding, describing or linking to it — re-traumatises the children shown in it and puts them at immediate risk. This prohibition is absolute and admits no justification, artistic, research, documentary or otherwise.

Prohibited without any exception

• any image, text, audio or video in which a minor takes part in sexual activity or apparently sexual activity, or is presented in a sexualised manner;
• sexual comments, statements or proposals addressed to a minor or concerning a minor;
• links to external resources containing material of child sexual abuse;
• fantasies about sexual acts with minors, however they are expressed;
• promotion or normalisation of sexual attraction to minors, including presenting it as an identity or a sexual orientation;
• sending sexually explicit material to a minor, or any attempt to draw a minor into a conversation of a sexual nature;
• attempting to obtain sexual material from a minor, including by means of blackmail, gifts, payment or any other inducement;
• advertising or promoting the prostitution of minors, or any activity aimed at transporting, harbouring or recruiting minors for sexual purposes;
• disclosing the names or publishing images of alleged victims of child sexual exploitation;
• threatening to distribute, or demanding the distribution of, sexual material created by or depicting minors, including for the purpose of extortion.

Narrow exceptions

Very limited exceptions are possible only where there is a low direct risk to minors:

• discussion directed against child sexual exploitation that contains no information capable of identifying a victim;
• survivors’ accounts of their own experience, provided they contain no explicit detail or material;
• requests for help and support from people who experience an unhealthy attraction to minors;
• advocacy material against unlawful activity involving minors, containing no links to abuse material.

Enforcement measures

• the account is blocked immediately and permanently, together with the associated session and network data;
• the material and the account data are passed to the competent law enforcement authorities;
• where appropriate, a report is also made to international child-protection organisations and hotlines;
• the material is preserved as required for the investigation and is not returned to the account holder.

2. Material depicting physical abuse of children

To avoid re-traumatising victims and normalising violence against children, the Service Provider removes most material depicting physical violence against minors, whatever the purpose of its distribution.

In assessing such material we take into account whether a minor is shown unclothed, the severity of the harm depicted, and whether the context of distribution is abusive, neutral or informational.

Prohibited

• any material showing an unclothed minor subjected to violence;
• material distributed with an evidently abusive or mocking intent;
• material recording serious harm to the health of a minor.

Limited exceptions

• where distribution is aimed at identifying a child in order to rescue them from a violent situation, or at identifying an offender;
• where the material is distributed by an accredited news organisation in an informational context.

Enforcement measures

• immediate removal of the offending content;
• temporary or permanent loss of access to the Service;
• in cases of repetition or severity — a permanent block and a report to the competent authorities.

3. Grooming and other threats to child safety

The Service Provider treats as a gross violation of this policy any conduct aimed at building a relationship of trust with a minor in order to exploit them sexually or to cause them harm in any other way (grooming).

Such conduct includes, in particular

• an adult deliberately presenting themselves as a minor;
• deliberately seeking out minors as conversation partners, whether through the filters of the Service or by any other means;
• attempting to move a conversation to another platform in order to escape moderation;
• creating a relationship of trust in order to obtain sexual material or to induce a minor to engage in sexual acts;
• any form of psychological pressure, intimidation, blackmail or sexual extortion directed at a minor;
• offering, arranging or paying for any meeting with a minor for sexual purposes.

4. Minors on the Service

Registration requires a date of birth and is refused to anyone under 18. Any profile that appears to belong to a minor is blocked as soon as it is noticed, whether it is found by our own checks or reported by a User, and its content is removed from public view.

If you are under 18: this Service is not for you, and creating an account here puts you at risk. Please leave the Service and speak to an adult you trust.

If you believe that someone using the Service is a minor, report the profile — do not attempt to investigate or to continue the conversation in order to collect evidence. Adults who continue a conversation with a person they believe to be a minor are themselves in breach of this policy.

5. How to report a violation

Report any violation of this policy immediately. Use the “Report” control available in every profile, card and dialogue of the Service, or write to info@moimatch.org. You do not need an account to send a report by e-mail.

Reports concerning the safety of minors are examined as a matter of priority, ahead of all other reports. Where it does not conflict with the requirements of confidentiality or of an investigation, we will inform the person who reported of the outcome.

International resources

After notifying us, you can also report the violation to a child-protection organisation in your country:

• the list of hotlines by country published by Google: support.google.com/websearch/answer/148666;
• the INHOPE network of national hotlines: inhope.org;
• the CyberTipline of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), which accepts reports from anywhere in the world: report.cybertip.org.

6. Our commitments

The Service Provider takes the following organisational and technical measures to protect minors:

• an age limit of 18+ on every client of the Service, applied at registration and enforced afterwards;
• a reporting control in every profile, card and dialogue, and a published e-mail address that works without an account;
• automated filtering of content, including lists of prohibited terms and anti-abuse signals;
• manual review of reports by authorised staff, with priority for reports concerning minors;
• immediate and permanent blocking of offenders where child sexual abuse material or grooming is detected;
• preservation of the material and of the associated account data for transfer to the competent authorities, without notifying the offender;
• cooperation with law enforcement and with child-protection organisations, and compliance with the child safety laws applicable to the Service;
• a named point of contact for child safety enquiries, published below;
• review of this policy at least once a year, and whenever the applicable law changes or a new threat is identified.

Users are responsible for their own conduct and for the content they publish and send. Nothing in this policy transfers to the Service Provider responsibility for a User’s unlawful acts, and the Service Provider will assist the competent authorities in establishing that responsibility.

7. Child safety point of contact

Enquiries about these standards from users, researchers, application stores, child-protection organisations and law enforcement authorities should be addressed to info@moimatch.org, marking the subject line “Child safety”. Messages sent to this address concerning the safety of minors are treated as a priority.
